Thank you to Brooklynn Mason & Tatum Cagle for taking the time to give a speach to introduce themseleves and tell why they would like to represent the Lubbock Saddle Club as princess.
The 2012 officers will be inducted into office at the Annual Awards Banquet in December. (More information on the banquet will follow soon!) Please stay tuned for details as they develop!
Congratulations to the 2012 Wranglers!
At the August playday, Wrangler tryouts were held. Thank you to all who tried out: Noah Reilly, Blade Jordan, John Jones and Collin Woodcock. They carried a flag around the arena and were judged by a panel of judges. Once they had all demonstrated their ability to carry the flag, control their horses and abilty to ride, the judges announced their choices - by a close margin:
1st place carrying the LSC Flag - John Jones
2nd place carrying the Texas Flag - Collin Woodcock
3rd place carrying the American Flag - Blade Jordan
(Please note: the American is placed as the 3rd flag ONLY because this wrangler may not always carry a flag. According to flag etiquette,
one American Flag is allowed in an arena at a time.
For this reason only, we place this flag as a 3rd place flag.)
Congratulations to the 2012 Officers and Wranglers!
***Barrel Race News***
The Barrel Races have been a success! Thank you to those that have been willing to water and maintain the ground. Also thank you to those that have been willing to work the races,
either as a barrel setter, time keeper or tractor driver.
We will resume our Barrel Races soon, weather permitting.
Check the Barrel Race Page or the Schedule of Events for other details or weather cancellations. For additional information, please contact Jeff Tate, the Barrel Race Coordinator.
It was decided that the main entrance gate to the arena would be locked when an event was not being ran at the arena. This is due to the usage of the arena by people not associated with the Club and the equipment not being properly cared for. It has been used and not returned to its rightful place and some vandalisim of some of the club's property, including the tractor and the arena equipment.
IF YOU USE THE ARENA EQUIPMENT (i.e. the Barrels, Poles, Pylons, etc.) PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE - SET THE BARRELS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE ARENA FENCE AND PUT THE POLES & PYLONS BACK BY THE CONCESSIONS STAND WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED. DO NOT LEAVE THE EQUIPMENT IN THE ARENA.
If you are a member of the Club and would like to use the arena at a time that an event is not taking place, please contact one of the officers on the Contact Us page and we will instruct you on how to enter the grounds. If you have any questions, please let us know!
