District II News

As a member of the Lubbock Saddle Club, you are automatically a member of District II.  You are welcome to ride in all District II playdays.  If you desire to compete at the Association Level, you and your family would also need to become a member of the American Association of Sheriff Posses and Riding Clubs.  For more information about AASPRC, contact Donna Willis.

News Updates

Please keep Donna Leipsic, President of the AASPRC and her husband Gary in your thoughts and prayers. Gary was injured during a playday event at the Lubbock Saddle Club. His ligaments that hold the pelvic bones in place tore while he was riding an event. Gary has undergone two surgeries to install plates to hold the plevic bones in place and is in for a relatively long recovery. Please continue to keep Donna and Gary in your prayers.

Special thanks to Region 6 Princess, Lauren O'Brien! She made the trip from San Angelo to participate in the ABC Rodeo Grand Entry. Lauren participated in both of the Saturday afternoon performances. She looked awesome! It was really good to get to meet her and visit with her parents. Region I VP, Ronnie Elrod and AASP & RC EVP, Renee Guthrie also took the time to come and ride. Please look for pictures to be posted at a later date.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
At the District II meeting, April 13th, it was decided that the prices for the rides at District II playdays have been REDUCED! All rides will now be $3.00 per ride (all six events for $18.00). Exhibitions will remain at $3.00 per ride. For those that are only riding exhibitions or are not members of any of the three Clubs (LSC, WOF or WTR) there is a $5.00 non-member arena usage fee in addition to the fee to ride the events.

This is an exciting change and hopefully it will benefit all of the members
of the Clubs in District II.

SPRING ROUND-UP

Spring Round-up was rained out! The 4D barrel race was able to be held; however, the rain began and did not quit until after it was scheduled to be over. Currently, it is planned to hold the team playday Tuesday before Playday Finals. (June 15th)

Make plans to attend now. This is going to be a blast and keep in mind, you do not have to be a member of AASP & RC to attend this year!

Any of the members are welcome to attend the District II meetings!  They are always the 2nd Tuesday of the month - currently held at the Home Plate Diner at 34th and the West Loop 289.  Next meeting will be the 2nd Tuesday in April at 7:30 p.m.  If you have questions, please contact Disrict II Secretary, Donna Willis or District II President, Sarah Winters.

NOTICE

****NEGATIVE COGGINS ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH HORSE BROUGHT TO EACH PLAYDAY****
THEY WILL BE CHECKED AT THE GATE AT EACH PLAYDAY!
You must present proof of negative coggins no later than the second playday.  If you desire, you may provide a copy of your coggins to be kept on file by the District II Creditials Person, Michael Mild.  His number can be found on the Contact Us page, as he is Lubbock Saddle Club Vice President.  This will prevent you having to bring them to each playday.
