| 2010 Playday Season Remember if there is any question regarding the weather... "Call Before You Haul" or check back on the website to check for Rain Outs! - All playday date for the Lubbock Saddle Club will be the 1st Saturday of each month (March - August) with the exception of the month of April. Due to the ABC Rodeo on the 1st weekend of April, the April playday will be the 2nd weekend of April. Lubbock Saddle Club Events All Rides for the Regular Playday Series: $2.00/Ride Per Person (6 Events ran each play day) with a $50.00 cap for a family of four or more! Exhibitions*: $2.00/Ride Per Person *Please note: if there are more than 40 riders at any one playday, exhibitions will be limited to one per rider, per event. Officers may at their discretion, prohibit exhibition rides in order to complete a playday in a timely manner. Riders must have 24 rides to qualify for year end awards. (Negative EIA Coggins Required! - You may provide a copy to the alt. secretary, Veronika Harris at playday registration.) District Events All Rides for District Events: $4.00/Ride, Per Person (6 Events ran each play day) Exhibitions $3.00/ride, riders that are not members of one of the three clubs (LSC, WOF or WTR) pay a $5.00 arena usage fee. By being a member of the Lubbock Saddle Club, you are automatically a member of the AASP&RC District II. However, if you plan to participate at Play Day Finals in Bowie, Texas or Spring Round-up, you must join AASP&RC. (If interested, please see District II Secetary, Donna Willis.) ****NEGATIVE COGGINS ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH HORSE BROUGHT TO EACH PLAYDAY**** You must present proof of negative coggins no later than the second playday. If you desire, you may provide a copy of your coggins to be kept on file by the District II Creditials Person, Michael Mild. (This will prevent you having to show them at each playday.) Turn on the road by Allsups (right) and head north, go 1/4 mile to the stop sign and turn (right) east, go 1/2 mile to the Rodeo Arena sign, turn (left) north to the Arena parking lot. *For directions to the LSC Arena click here. *Directions to the WTR Arena: exit Hwy 41 from I-27, head west on 41 for 1.7 miles and make a right (north) onto CR 2300.  Trail Ride Opportunities April 16-18, 2010 (Friday - Saturday) | Reilly's Ranch Horse Rescue and Rehab This trail ride is a fundraising event for Reilly's Ranch Horse Rescue and Rehab. While this event does take place during an Association event (Spring Round-up) it is NOT a Lubbock Saddle Club event. All proceeds benefit Reilly's Ranch. Reilly's Ranch assumed all horses and equipment from Panhandle Safe Hayven Equine Rescue in Amarillo. "PSHER" held an annual trail ride at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Tim at Cal Farley's has requested that Reilly's Ranch continue the annual trail ride. There was no other date availalbe to reschuedule the ride. Participants are welcome to come in on Friday night, camp Firday and Saturday nights. There will be a trail ride Saturday morning and lots of fun and friends. For more information, please visit the Reilly's Ranch website. |
Other Dates of Interest January 10, 2010 (Sunday) | 2009 District II Awards Banquet - Shallowater, TX This banquet will be held at the Shallowater Community Center, located at 900 Avenue H. The banquet will begin at 3:00 pm. District II will provide finger foods and appetizers. If you need additional information, please contact District II Secretary, Donna Wills. | January 16, 2010 (Saturday) | Fort Worth Stock Show Parade - Fort Worth, TX This is an AASP & RC event, held in Fort Worth, TX. Those interested in riding can contact Region I VP Ronnie Elrod for more information. Most will caravan to Bowie Friday and stay the night at the Association grounds. Then drive on in for the line-up on Saturday morning. This would be a great time for LSC to show in spectacular fashion. Full parade uniforms will be required for ridersin this parade. Kent Garrett has the flags to be carried. If you plan on riding, you may NOT pony another rider, nor may you ride tandem. If you plan to ride in the grand entry, you must be at least of 16 years of age. Kent must have a tenative head- count ASAP! Please contact Parade Marshall Kent Garrett to reserve your spot. (See Contact Us page.) | February 26-27, 2010 (Friday - Saturday) | Runnin for the Cure - Andrews, TX 4D Barrel Race will be in Andrews, Texas. All proceeds raised will go to those that are fighting cancer. Friday the arena will open from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for exhibitions. The books will open at 10:00 a.m., exhibitions begin at 10:15 a.m.and end at 2:30 pm. We will ride in both grand entries (one Saturday and one on Sunday.) The Boys Ranch provides BBQ lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. A menu will be prepared for other meals and you will have the opprtunity to sign up to bring food items to share in meal preparations.
