"Call Before You Haul" or check back on the website to check for Rain Outs! - All playday date for the Lubbock Saddle Club will be the 1st Saturday of each month (March - August) with the exception of the month of April. Due to the ABC Rodeo on the 1st weekend of April, the April playday will be the 2nd weekend of April. Lubbock Saddle Club Regular Playday Series All Rides for the Regular Playday Series: $2.00/Ride Per Person (6 Events ran each play day) with a $50.00 cap for a family of four or more! Exhibitions*: $2.00/Ride Per Person *Please note: if there are more than 40 riders at any one playday, exhibitions will be limited to one per rider, per event. Officers may at their discretion, prohibit exhibition rides in order to complete a playday in a timely manner. Riders must have 24 rides to qualify for year end awards. (4 events ran each series: Poles, Goat-Tying, Rodeo Flags and Barrels) Must be 18 or under, as of January 1, 2010 to participate in events and must ride 4 of the 8 playdays to qualify. District Events TAKE NOTE: As of the District II meeting, April 13th, All Rides for District Events have been reduced to: $3.00/Ride, Per Person (6 Events will be $18.00) Exhibitions remain $3.00/ride. Riders that are not members of one of the three clubs (LSC, WOF or WTR) or only ride exhibitions will pay a $5.00 arena usage fee. By being a member of the Lubbock Saddle Club, you are automatically a member of the AASP&RC District II. However, if you plan to participate at Play Day Finals in Bowie, Texas or Spring Round-up, you must join AASP&RC. (If interested, please see District II Secetary, Donna Willis.) ****NEGATIVE COGGINS ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH HORSE BROUGHT TO EACH PLAYDAY**** You must present proof of negative coggins no later than the second playday. If you desire, you may provide a copy of your coggins to be kept on file by the District II Creditials Person, Michael Mild. (This will prevent you having to show them at each playday.)  Trail Ride Opportunities April 16-18, 2010 (Friday - Saturday) RESCHEDULED | Reilly's Ranch Horse Rescue and Rehab This trail ride is a fundraising event for Reilly's Ranch Horse Rescue and Rehab. While this event does take place during an Association event (Spring Round-up) it is NOT a Lubbock Saddle Club event. All proceeds benefit Reilly's Ranch. Reilly's Ranch assumed all horses and equipment from Panhandle Safe Hayven Equine Rescue in Amarillo. "PSHER" held an annual trail ride at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Tim at Cal Farley's has requested that Reilly's Ranch continue the annual trail ride. There was no other date availalbe to reschuedule the ride. Participants are welcome to come in on Friday night, camp Firday and Saturday nights. There will be a trail ride Saturday morning and lots of fun and friends. For more information, please visit the Reilly's Ranch website. | May 15, 2010 (Saturday) RESCHEDULED | Reilly's Ranch Horse Rescue and Rehab The trail ride originally scheduled for the 3rd weekend in April was rained out. As a result, it has been rescheduled; however, due to Cal Farley's scheduled, the trail ride has been relocated. It is now going to be held at the Crawfish Draw Ranch near Ralls. Remember, this ride is a fundraising event for Reilly's Ranch Horse Rescue and Rehab; all proceeds benefit Reilly's Ranch. Thetrail ride will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. and lunch will be served after the trail ride. The cost of the ride is $25, which includes lunch. Anyone interested in attending, but not riding can pay $5.00 for lunch. Please come out and help support Reilly's Ranch Horse Rescue and Rehab. Crawfish Draw Ranch is about 25 miles from Lubbock - see their website: Crawfish Draw Ranch. There will be plenty of Raffle prizes as well. For more information, please visit the Reilly's Ranch website. | September 3-6, 2010 (Saturday) | Cal Farley's 66th Annual Trail Ride - near Vega, TX The 66th Annual Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch Rodeo will take place over Labor Day weekend. The Lubbock Saddle Club will travel to Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch to participate in the Grand Entries for the rodeo performances on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There will be a guided trail ride at on Saturday morning. (Those interested in the trail ride are asked to meet at the horse barn near the arena at 8:00 a.m.) As we have in the past, we will prepare a menu and pull the items of the menu together. Lubbock Saddle Club has been asked to spearhead the playday Saturday evening after the rodeo. T-Shirts are being designed and will be available for ordering soon. Camping is free, port-a-potties are available. More information will follow soon. Cal Farley's has already sent us our invite letter. Every rider will need an indemnity form will need to be completed for each rider. The forms will be posted soon. Please continue to check for more information. |
 Other Dates of Interest July 4, 2010 (Sunday) HAPPY 4th of JULY!! | 4th of July Parade - Abernathy, TX This parade will be similar to last year's parade; however, the time has changed to an evening parade. Full parade uniform will be required to participate in this parade. Please be dressed and ready to ride no later than 5:00 p.m. and the parade will begin at 6:00 p.m. Line-up at the Hurst John Deere house (same place as last year). Afterwards, down at the football field, watermelon will be served and booths will be setup for purchase of hamburgers & drinks. Fireworks will be set off at dusk. Please contact the Parade Marshall, Kent Garrett for more information. | July 10, 2010 (Saturday) NOTICE: | O'Donnell Parade, Grand Entry & Rodeo - O'Donnell, TX O'Donnell parade, grand entry and rodeo will take place this Saturday. Full parade uniform will be required for all riders in this event. Arrive in O'Donnell and be ready to ride by 5:00 p.m., Grand Entry will begin afterwards. Please bring sodas and a potluck dish to be eaten after the parade before the grand entry. Several will stay to watch the rodeo. After the rain and speaking with representatives of the Parade, Kent Garrett has withdrawn the Lubbock Saddle Club from riding in this parade and grand entry. Due to heavy rains, there is not any parking near the arena and the parking that is available is questionable as to whether the truck/trailer would be stuck or not. According to the representatives, the parade WILL proceed as planned. At the time of this update, the oganizers intended to continue with the rodeo on BOTH Friday and Saturday nights. Come out and support the American Diabetes Association in honor of Hailey Burton. Books open at 10:00 am and rides start at 11:00 am. C-ya there! | July 29, 2010 (Thursday) | USSSA Opening Ceremonies - Lubbock, TX Again the Lubbock Saddle Club has been asked to ride the opening ceremonies for the USSSA opening ceremonies. To ride in this event, riders should wear a white long-sleeved shirt, jeans and a straw hat. FULL PARADE UNIFORM IS NOT REQUIRED. Please contact District II Secretary, Donna Willis for more information. | July 31, 2010 (Saturday) | Crosbyton Jubilee Parade - Crosbyton, TX For those of you that have parade uniforms and are not participating in the 50/50 Challenge, come parade with us in Crosbyton! By special invite, we will be riding in the Crosbyton Jubilee Parade. The parade takes place every 5 years. Uniforms will be required to ride in ths parade. Arrive by 8:00 a.m., line-up begins at 8:30 and the parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. There will be many activities at the Jubilee so plan on hanging around after the parade if desired. For more information, please contact Parade Marshall, Kent Garrett. | September 3-6, 2010 (Friday - Monday) | Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Rodeo Lubbock Saddle Club will once again participate in the 66th annual Boys Ranch/Girlstown Rodeo. We will ride in both grand entries (one Saturday and one on Sunday.) The Boys Ranch provides BBQ lunch on both Saturday and Sunday. A menu will be prepared for other meals and you will have the opprtunity to sign up to bring food items to share in meal preparations.
